Art Gallery Gig is a duo featuring Mead Turner and Dave Parker, performing primarily original music rooted in blues, bluegrass, and country, with touches of jazz.
Mead Turner, originally from Fredericksburg, Texas, has performed extensively in the country and bluegrass scene. He plays fiddle, guitar, and mandolin, and contributes vocals to the duo’s sound. His playing is expressive and dynamic, capable of producing a range of sounds that rival electrified guitar.
Dave Parker is a multi-instrumentalist, performing on nylon-string guitar, vibraphone, and drums, and sharing vocal duties. His style draws from bossa nova, Spanish traditions, and jazz. His songwriting is influenced by artists such as Carlos Jobim, Colter Wall, and Eugene McDaniels.

The duo’s name, Art Gallery Gig, came about somewhat accidentally—borrowed from a file folder on Mead’s computer. It stuck, perhaps fittingly, as the duo primarily performs at art gallery openings. An alternate contender, Art Gallery Groupie, was ultimately left on the cutting room floor.
